When the Pope of the Catholic Church visits any country, there’s always room for eyes to stay peeled on the momentous occasion that something could change in society: new laws are born simply by the presence of the Pope, and here we have the likes of Pope Francis, a man unlike many other popes in the past with somewhat aggressive, yet compassionate, stances on the major issues of today.
In other words…. He’s quite vocal about his conviction, and that’s most definitely not a bad thing.
Although most recently we did see Pope Francis grace the ground of the White House with President Obama, praising the United States and communicating a message of hope to advocate for the deliverance and repair of relations between America and Cuba, there are underlying principles here everyone must be aware regarding Pope Francis. He does not waver as you’ll see here…. And it makes you wonder just whether or not he will compromise on many issues (or not).
Here Are Four Issues Pope Francis Addresses Very Seriously
With respect to law — something we focus on tremendously here — Pope Francis makes it clear that the simple moral compass is enough to make a change, and in our current legal arena, that can shake things up a bit. Many of these stances raise questions without current answers — some issues can possibly open the eyes of the many to a possibility no one ever thought could be. And yet you might find one here that’ll most definitely cause plenty of division between the masses (but can that result in something good for everyone?).
Without a doubt, Pope Francis can shake things up. Whether or not you agree with it, that’s the question:
- Abortion — Clearly Pope Francis has an aggressive stance on this — like the popes of the past, at the very least — but you’d be shocked to know that he even supports this in his conviction. You’d wonder what he’d even say about Planned Parenthood and everything going on with that!
- Capital Punishment and Life Imprisonment — Talk about pure conviction. Unwavering conviction. It’s one thing to have a belief — but to be firmly grounded in it and insist that there must be another way to protect the people? That can be considered courage. Or stubbornness. Find out what Pope Francis says specifically about capital punishment and life imprisonment right here.
- Religious Persecution — It’s obvious Pope Francis shares a sorrow and concern for the deaths of many Christians around the world, as well as the issues regarding ISIS and further confrontations involving Al Qaeda and terrorism. But you’ll be shocked to see just how far Pope Francis will go regarding this issue right here.
- Same-Sex Marriages — An obvious development in our legal stratosphere, most recently, and it has been making headlines and waves across the U.S. Does Pope Francis concede the supposed ‘legal right’ for homosexuals to marry given the fact that countries have the right to sign laws as such? Or is he so incredibly vehement in his belief to suggest that same-sex marriages are completely unacceptable? How far would he go in his belief regarding this? And how will that essentially affect the U.S. regarding our new law?
And We’re Not Even Considering His Aggressive Stance on the Poor!
We may very easily consider Pope Francis a true revolutionary. Considering taking in refugees right in the Vatican City, his humility in attire as well as his residency changing the landscape compared to the many popes of the past, and his upbringing as an immigrant: this makes for a truly unique pope.
It’s safe to say that Pope Francis just might be such an influence in today’s news among other central figures, with respect to our laws — and future developments. So it would be our due diligence to remain vigilant in our ever-changing legal landscape.Share
